Privacy policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Anchor2X is run by D4B Marketing, LLC (“we”, “us”). This page explains what we collect about you, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it.
The short version:
- We collect only what the site needs to verify you, match you and run your sessions.
- We do not sell your information, show ads, or use tracking cookies.
- We never store photos of your ID, your ID number or your date of birth.
- We do not host, watch or record your sessions.
What we collect
Your account
- Your first name, email address and password. The password is stored in scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read it.
Your ID check
- The check is carried out by our verification partner, Didit. You show your state ID to Didit, not to us. Depending on the check, Didit may also ask for a selfie and compare it with the photo on your ID.
- Didit sends us its result, which includes your date of birth and the gender marker on your ID. We use the date of birth once, to confirm you are 18 or older, and do not save it.
- We store four things: whether you passed, whether you are 18 or older, the gender marker on your ID (M, F or X), and Didit's reference number for your check.
- We never store your ID photos, selfie, ID number, address, full legal name or date of birth.
- If the check includes a selfie, comparing it with your ID photo is a form of biometric processing. Didit does this on our behalf and we never receive the biometric data. Didit keeps ID images and selfies for 30 days and then deletes them.
Your profile
- Your industry, time zone, the days and times of day you are free, and your preferred session length.
- Your preferences for camera and for how much talking you like in a session.
- The kinds of task you usually work on, and a short note if you write one.
- Your neurotype, only if you choose to add it. This is optional, you describe it yourself, and you can remove it at any time. Because it can say something about your health, we treat it with extra care.
Your sessions
- Invites you send and receive: who they are with, the time, the length, and any note you add.
- The Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link the sender provides.
- Whether each invite was accepted, declined or cancelled.
Your membership
- Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We store your Stripe customer and subscription reference, your membership status, and your renewal date.
Invites
- If you join through a member's invite link, we record which member invited you, and when you passed the ID check. Opening an invite link sets a cookie for 30 days so the invite still counts if you sign up later.
- Any free months on your account, and when they were used.
Blocks and reports
- Who you have blocked, and when.
- Any report you send: who it is about, the reason you chose, and what you wrote.
- Any report made about you, and what our reviewers decided.
Technical information
- Our hosting providers keep standard logs, which include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use these to keep the site running and secure.
- Emails we send you, and whether they were delivered. We do not track whether you open them or click links.
- Your answers to “How did it go?” After a session you can tell us whether it happened, how much you got done, whether it was easier than working alone, and how it felt, with an optional comment. Answering is always optional. Your partner never sees your answers. They are stored with your account so that we can add them up, but what our team is shown is totals, and comments without names attached. We use the totals to improve Anchor2X and may publish them, for example as “most members found it easier than working alone”. We may split totals by things like session length or, if you chose to give one, neurotype, and only when a group is large enough that nobody in it can be picked out. We quote a comment only if you tick the box allowing it, and never with your name.
How we use it
- To confirm you are an adult using your own ID.
- To match you. Members are matched only with others who have the same gender marker on their verified ID. Schedule, time zone, session length, style, camera preference, task types and industry affect the order of your matches.
- To send invites, run your sessions, and email you about them.
- To take payment for membership.
- To review reports, enforce our rules and keep members safe.
- To fix problems and protect the site from misuse.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models.
What other members see
- Members you match with see your first name, a “Verified” badge, your industry, your time zone, your neurotype if you added one, your session preferences, the kinds of task you work on, your note, and the times you are both free.
- They do not see your email address, surname, ID details, address or city. Because matching is by the gender on your ID, a match can work out that yours is the same as theirs.
- A meeting link is visible to the person who sent it, and to the person invited only after they accept.
- Members are never told who blocked or reported them.
- If you joined through an invite link, the member who invited you is told that someone they invited was verified. They are not told it was you, though they may guess if they invited only one person.
- Before you pass the ID check, you see only a count of members who are free when you are. No one's name or profile is shown to you, and yours is shown to no one, until you are verified.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the companies that help us run the site, and only what each one needs:
- Didit, for the ID check.
- Stripe, for payments. It receives your email address and a reference to your account.
- Supabase, which stores our database and handles sign-in.
- Vercel, which hosts the website.
- Resend, which delivers our emails.
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy and may keep information under its own rules. In particular, Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires.
Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams are chosen and used by members themselves. We do not send them your information, and what happens in a call is covered by that service's own policy.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if the business is sold or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in, plus one that remembers an invite link for 30 days if you opened one. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe and Didit may set their own cookies on their pages while you pay or verify.
How we count visits. To see which pages are useful and where people are finding us, we keep daily totals of: how many times each page was opened; when a visit arrives from another website, that website's name; for each visit, whether it was on a phone, tablet or computer, and the country and state (or region) our hosting provider estimates from your connection; and how long each page was on screen, added together. All of these are only totals for each day, such as “12 visits from Pennsylvania”. We do not store your IP address, your city, or your browser's details; we do not set a cookie, store anything in your browser or note your account for this. So the totals cannot be linked to you and we cannot follow anyone from one page to the next. No analytics company is involved.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account information for as long as you have an account.
- When your account is deleted, we cancel your membership and any reminder emails, then delete your profile, ID check result, invites and sessions, your answers to “How did it go?”, blocks, reports made about you, invite records, unused free months, and membership record from our database. Routine backups and logs clear within 30 days.
- Reports you made about other members are kept, so that patterns of behaviour still show up. Your account is no longer attached to them, but the words you wrote remain.
- If we remove you from Anchor2X for breaking our rules, we keep a short record so that you cannot rejoin, and we keep it after your account is deleted. It holds a scrambled copy of your email address that cannot be read back, your first name, part of your email address, the date and our reviewer's note. We also ask Didit to keep a scrambled fingerprint of your ID number so that the same ID is declined at the ID check. We do not keep your ID number, ID images or any face data for this. If we lift the ban, we delete the record and ask Didit to delete the fingerprint.
- Stripe and Didit keep their own records for the periods their policies and the law set.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your profile on your Profile page at any time.
- Turn off emails about invites and sessions on your Profile page. We will still send essential messages, such as confirming your email address or replying to a report.
- Cancel your membership on your Membership page.
- Ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@anchor2x.com from the email address on your account. We will reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights, such as the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to the database is restricted so that members can only read what this policy says they can, and only our reviewers can read reports. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Who can use Anchor2X
Anchor2X is for adults aged 18 or older in the United States. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has an account, please tell us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a change that matters, we will email members before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
